Teleport Players on a 7 Days to Die Server

You will need

  • A 7 Days to Die dedicated server with an authorized command console
  • The exact online player name, user ID or entity ID shown by that server
  • A destination player or coordinates checked against the current world

Use a server-side teleport when an online player is stuck or the group needs to meet at a known place. In the V3.3 command reference, teleportplayer moves another player either to coordinates or to a second online player. The command changes where someone appears, so confirm the target, destination and permission before you send it.

The examples below follow a third-party V3.3 command reference that says it reproduces the game’s usage text; they are not a test on your server. The Fun Pimps’ V3.3.0 Stable announcement is dated October 5, 2026, but its release notes do not document teleport syntax. Run help teleportplayer on your own server and use the output there if it differs. For the wider command-console workflow, see our 7 Days to Die admin command guide.

Open a server command console you are allowed to use#

Run the command from an authorized server-side console, such as the host panel’s command console or the server’s configured remote console. A player’s in-game F1 console is a different command context; this guide does not assume that every client or platform exposes it.

If you rent a server, check whether its panel accepts game commands before relying on it. Game Hosting’s 7 Days to Die panel includes a live command console, but it does not have a teleport button. You still send the game command yourself, and the server must allow your account to run it. The panel’s live map is a visual view of player positions; it does not show numeric coordinates to copy into this command.

At the console, check the server’s current usage text:

text
help teleportplayer

The V3.3 reference also lists tele as an alias. Confirm the alias and argument order with your own server before using it. If the help command does not list teleportplayer, stop and check the running build or host’s command environment rather than trying guessed variations.

Find the right player identifier#

The reference accepts a user ID, player name or entity ID for the player to move. For a destination player, that person must be online. Use the server’s live player list or lpi output to match the displayed name and ID, then compare it with the person who asked for help. Names can be ambiguous, especially when players use similar names.

Do not copy a platform ID from an old screenshot or another server. If the name and ID do not clearly identify the same online player, ask them to wait while you verify the current list. A command sent to the wrong player can interrupt a fight, building session or event.

Move one player to another online player#

The V3.3 reference gives this form for moving one player to another online player:

text
teleportplayer <player-to-move> <destination-player>

Replace each placeholder with a name, user ID or entity ID supported by your server, and remove the angle brackets. For example, a moderator might enter teleportplayer PlayerOne PlayerTwo after confirming that PlayerOne asked to be moved and PlayerTwo agreed to act as the destination. Check your server’s help teleportplayer output for the exact accepted identifier format.

Tell both players what you are about to do. Teleporting can interrupt combat or move someone away from a build, vehicle or group task, so treat it as an admin action rather than a routine shortcut. If the destination player is offline, this form is not suitable; use a checked coordinate destination or wait until that player is online.

Move a player to coordinates#

For a fixed point, the reference lists this form:

text
teleportplayer <player-to-move> <x> <y> <z> [view-direction]

The optional view direction can orient the player after the move. The reference documents y=-1 as a ground-placement option, but that does not prove every landing is safe or suitable for every terrain. Coordinate and world state matter: a location can still place someone near a hazard, obstruction, enemy or active encounter.

Before sending a coordinate command, check the current map and confirm which axis and location format your server uses. If you cannot verify the destination, move the player to a trusted online teammate instead. Do not infer a player’s exact X and Z from a visual-only host map: Game Hosting’s map shows positions visually but does not provide numeric coordinate readouts.

After the command, ask the player to confirm where they landed. If the result is unexpected, pause further moves and recheck the server help, identifier and destination rather than repeating the same command with guessed values.

Check permissions before running it#

The V3.3 reference describes command permissions as level-based. It lists level 0 as the highest admin level and says players without an explicit permission entry default to 1000; the cp command manages command permissions. Do not copy a permission value from an old serveradmin.xml guide and assume it is current. Configuration and host policy can differ.

Use the running server’s help to inspect the permission commands:

text
help cp
cp list

Only a server owner or an admin authorized to change permissions should adjust them. If the command is denied, ask the server owner to review the current permission setup; do not grant yourself broader access as a workaround. For other moderation tasks and the tested V3.3 admin syntax, use the admin commands reference.

Keep teleports predictable for the group#

Agree on when moderators may move someone: for example, a player stuck in terrain or an announced event regroup. Let the player know first when practical, and keep a short note of the target, destination, reason and time if your group needs an audit trail. Avoid teleporting during a fight or while someone is changing a base unless the emergency justifies interrupting them.

If you are running a group event, announce the meeting point and give players a chance to reach it normally. Use teleport as a fallback for someone who is stuck or cannot join the group, not as proof that every player can safely arrive at every coordinate. For any server-side command, the current server’s help output and the owner’s permission rules are the final checks.

Frequently asked questions#

How do I teleport to a friend in 7 Days to Die?

Ask an authorized server admin to run teleportplayer <your-player> <friend> from a server-side command console. Both players need to be online, and the admin should check help teleportplayer and confirm the identifiers first.

What is the command to teleport a player?

The V3.3 reference lists teleportplayer <player> <x> <y> <z> for a coordinate destination and teleportplayer <player> <destination-player> for an online player destination. Verify the syntax and permission with the server you are using.

Can console players teleport on a server?

This article documents an admin sending a server command. It does not establish that PS5 or Xbox clients can open the PC F1 console, or that every console account can be targeted successfully from a server command. Check the current platform and server requirements before promising that behavior to a group.

Quick answers

How do I teleport to a friend in 7 Days to Die?

From an authorized server command console, use `teleportplayer <player> <friend>` after confirming both online identifiers and the syntax shown by `help teleportplayer` on your server.

What is the command to teleport a player?

The V3.3 command reference lists `teleportplayer <player> <x> <y> <z>` for coordinates or `teleportplayer <player> <destination player>` to move one online player to another. Check your running server’s help and command permissions first.

Can a PS5 or Xbox player use the teleport command?

This guide covers a server admin sending a command through a server console. It does not verify that a PS5 or Xbox client can open the PC F1 console, or that a server-side teleport works for every crossplay account.
