How much memory does an Arma Reforger server need?
In our tests Arma Reforger 1.8 used about 2.5 GB with nobody on; players, AI and mods add the rest. Squad (8 GB): about 16 players, vanilla or a few mods. Party (12 GB): about 32 players, or a pack like WCS and RHS. Clan (16 GB): about 64 players with heavy mods and lots of AI. These are guides, not caps: the memory is what you get.
Can Xbox and PlayStation players join?
Yes. Crossplay is on from the start, so PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5 players join the same server, with mods too as long as each one supports consoles. Consoles have less room for mods (PS5 25 GB, Xbox up to 50 GB) and download them more slowly, so the mods page shows how much of that room your list takes and how long a console player waits the first time.
How do mods work?
Mods come from Bohemia’s own Workshop, not Steam. Search it from your panel, or paste a link, a mod’s ID, the list the game’s Mod manager copies or a whole config.json. The mods they need are added too, and the server downloads everything when it starts; players get the mods when they join. Each mod links to its Workshop page, with its author and license.
What happens when the game or a mod updates?
The server updates the game and downloads new mod versions when it restarts. The panel shows which mods have a new version, keeps a mod on one version if you want, and marks mods made before 1.7, the last update that changed how mods work, so you know which ones may break when 1.9 rewrites vehicles. A mod you mark as not required is skipped if it can’t be downloaded, so the server still starts.
How do I pick or rotate scenarios?
Pick the scenario from a list with every official one and the ones your mods add; no IDs to paste. For a rotation, add several to the list in Settings: each restart, scheduled or not, moves to the next one.
How do I become admin?
Type #login and your admin password in the in-game chat; the panel shows the password. Or make a player admin from the Players page while they are on, from the next restart, so they never need the password. Kicks and bans work from the panel too, and bans are kept by Bohemia, so they survive a reinstall.
Does the server keep our progress?
Yes. Conflict, Game Master and Combat Ops save every 10 minutes by default and load the latest save when the server starts, and the game saves again when it stops. Before you change the scenario, the mods or the game version, the server keeps a copy of your saves, since those changes can break them.
How do scheduled restarts work?
Arma Reforger servers slow down over long sessions, so yours restarts by itself: once it has run 6 hours, as soon as nobody is on, and after 12 hours at the latest. The game can’t warn players in game without a mod, which is why it waits for an empty server first. You can add your own times too, or restarts as soon as nobody is on (3 hours at most).
Is there a killfeed or a map?
Yes. The killfeed lists who killed whom, with what kind of damage and from how far, and a ranking of kills, deaths, team kills and longest kill, read from the server’s own log. The map shows Everon, Arland or Kolguyev with where each player died and where their killer stood. Players install nothing. The game logs player deaths, not AI deaths, and it doesn’t name the weapon.
Why can’t my friends find my server?
Usually a different game version or crossplay turned off. Your server updates when it restarts and crossplay is on from the start, so check that your friends’ game is updated. They can also use Direct Join with the address in your panel.
Can I move my Arma Reforger server from another host?
Yes, for free: open a support ticket with your config.json and a .zip of your profile folder (with its saves), or your old host’s login details, which we delete as soon as the move is done. We set up the same mods and scenario, put your saves in place and tell you when it is ready.
Are backups included?
Yes, for free. Every server has three backup slots with your config, saves and settings (the game and mods download again, so backups stay small). Take one before a big change, or schedule one every night. Restore, download or lock any backup in one click.
