GTXGaming Arma Reforger Plans: Slots & RAM Compared
Compare GTXGaming Arma Reforger plans, RAM wording, mods and locations, then choose a server setup that fits your group and platforms.
You will need
- Your expected group size and game mode
- The platforms and Workshop mods your group plans to use
GTXGaming Arma Reforger plans use player slots as their headline size and describe included memory as “up to” a limit. That can suit a group that wants the host’s Workshop installer, its 19 listed locations or a larger slot choice. If you care more about knowing how much memory is assigned, we recommend Game Hosting’s Arma Reforger plans: each tier states 8, 12 or 16 GB, and the service lists its Ryzen 9 9900X CPU and three free backup slots. This guide compares the providers’ published terms, including GTXGaming’s current US offer, then checks the game-version and console details that can make a plan a poor fit.
Read the plan as slots and memory separately#
A slot count is the number of player places you select; it does not tell you how much RAM the game server can use. GTXGaming’s US offer checked October 16, 2026 lists three presets, while its resource table says memory is “up to” the advertised amount and that additional upgrades are selectable. The company does not publish a reserved amount for each preset on that page.
| Provider and listed tier | Advertised slots or memory | Monthly price shown | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game Hosting Squad | 8 GB memory | $19.99 | Fixed memory tier; its suggested 16 players is guidance, not a hard cap. |
| Game Hosting Party | 12 GB memory | $26.99 | Fixed memory tier; its suggested 32 players is guidance, not a hard cap. |
| Game Hosting Clan | 16 GB memory | $34.99 | Fixed memory tier; its suggested 64 players is guidance, not a hard cap. |
| GTXGaming Basic | 10 slots; up to 10 GB RAM | $12.66 | The page does not state the memory amount reserved for this preset. |
| GTXGaming Recommended | 30 slots; up to 12 GB RAM | $26.73 | Slot and memory ceilings are separate figures, not a RAM guarantee. |
| GTXGaming Ultra | 100 slots; up to 16 GB RAM | $62.09 | The page lists a higher ceiling and optional upgrades; verify the final configuration. |
These are the monthly USD amounts shown on the providers’ pages when checked, not a like-for-like price ranking: one list groups Game Hosting by memory and the other groups GTXGaming by slots. GTXGaming also advertises a custom build, extra memory, storage and CPU-priority options, but the final upgrade prices were not available in the reviewed offer. Check the order summary before paying and confirm whether its selected memory is a limit or an allocation. For a group sizing its resources, our Arma Reforger RAM guide explains why mods, AI and scenario matter alongside player count.
Choose a host around the scenario and admin work#
Both providers say their service supports common Reforger modes such as Conflict, Combat Ops and Game Master, plus Workshop scenarios. GTXGaming describes scenario selection in its panel configuration. Game Hosting’s current Reforger settings include an official scenario picker and scenario rotation; its contract lists 23 built-in scenarios. Neither statement means every community scenario or mod will work with every game version.
GTXGaming also lists a web console, RCON, file access and live statistics, alongside its configuration controls. See Bohemia’s server management reference for the game’s own admin and RCON context. Game Hosting’s panel exposes Reforger settings, a Players view for kicking, banning and adding admins, and a separate Workshop mod manager. Those are documented feature descriptions, not results of a paid-account panel test for this article. Reforger’s admin identity rules are game-specific: console administrators use Bohemia IdentityId, while a SteamID is a different identifier; see Bohemia’s server configuration reference. Native Reforger RCON is also distinct from BattlEye RCON; do not paste Arma 3 commands or RCON settings into Reforger because the games do not share that command set.
Before changing a scenario or an admin setup, confirm that the chosen host exposes the control you need and keep a current backup. If you need file access or a particular RCON workflow, verify those exact steps with the host rather than assuming that a feature name means the same panel behavior everywhere.
Check Workshop mods against every player’s platform#
Arma Reforger uses Bohemia’s Workshop, not Steam Workshop or mod.io. GTXGaming says its installer accepts Workshop URLs and handles dependencies; its mod installation guide describes that process. Game Hosting’s dashboard can search the Workshop, accept a link or a copied mod list, show dependencies and flag the total mod size against console storage. Mods remain their authors’ work; a host’s installer does not make a mod compatible with every platform or game version. For the actual install steps and version pins, see our Reforger Workshop mod guide.
The game’s current stable version is 1.8.0.13. As of October 16, 1.9.0.10 is Experimental for the separate Steam and Xbox Experimental apps, not a PlayStation client. Stable and Experimental clients are not interchangeable with one another’s server. Keep your server and players on a matching release, and check a mod’s supported version before updating a mod pack. The vehicle changes in 1.9 can also affect vehicle mods, so don’t treat an Experimental build as a safe preview for a Stable community.
With crossPlatform enabled, a dedicated server can bring PC, Xbox and PS5 players together; disabling it gives a PC-only server. The setting does not offer a PC-and-Xbox-only or Xbox-and-PS5-only combination. Consoles can join modded servers when the required mods support their platform, but storage is finite: Bohemia documents 25 GB on PS5 and 50 GB on Xbox. Check the pack against the tightest console limit in your group before changing it. Its Workshop documentation also puts console downloads at about 25 Mbps, so a larger pack can take time to download on a first join. See the official server configuration reference and Workshop documentation before planning a mixed-platform mod set.
Protect saved progress before you change the server#
Reforger has persistent session saves, but changing a scenario, version or mod pack can affect which saved world is usable. Back up before a wipe, scenario change or restore, then verify the backup exists and that you know how to recover it. The game changed its persistence format in 1.7, so an older save may not load under the newer format; don’t assume a backup is compatible just because it exists.
Game Hosting includes three backup slots with scheduling, restore, download and locking controls. Before a major change, the panel can make a copy of the server state; only the newest backup is copied off-site daily, so the three slots are not unlimited retention. GTXGaming advertises scheduled offsite backups and restore through its Backup Manager. Its public offer does not state a Reforger retention period, and this comparison did not perform either provider’s restore flow. Ask how long a particular copy remains available and check the displayed backup before relying on it.
A restore replaces later progress with the copy you select. Keep a second copy if the current world matters, and confirm what the backup contains before restoring. The relevant decision is whether the host documents the backup workflow you need, not a promise that an untested restore will work for every save or mod.
Compare locations and support without guessing at results#
GTXGaming lists 19 locations across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia and offers a ping test on its site. Game Hosting currently runs its Reforger servers from Dallas. Choose based on where your players connect from, then run the provider’s available latency check yourself; a list of nearby cities is not a measured ping guarantee. If your group is spread across several regions, GTXGaming’s broader location list may be a better fit.
GTXGaming advertises around-the-clock support, and its current page says priority support is a paid add-on. Game Hosting includes support from human game specialists, with replies within 24 hours. Those policies serve different needs: GTX may be preferable if you want a stated around-the-clock contact channel, while Game Hosting may fit if fixed memory, its named hardware and included panel controls matter more. We did not contact either support team for this comparison or test response times.
Choose the setup that solves your group’s main constraint#
GTXGaming is a reasonable fit when location choice, a slot preset and its URL-based Workshop installer matter more than a stated memory allocation. Its advertised entry monthly price is lower than Game Hosting’s 8 GB tier, but those plans do not publish comparable resource units, so that difference alone does not establish better value. Confirm the exact checkout configuration first.
Choose Game Hosting when you prefer a published 8, 12 or 16 GB memory tier, a named Ryzen 9 9900X with four threads, and three included backup slots alongside Reforger controls in one panel. That is a documented fit difference, not a claim that one server performed better in a benchmark. For more decision points, use our Arma Reforger hosting checklist. Whichever provider you choose, match the stable game version, confirm console mod support and check a backup before changing the group’s setup.
