Palworld Server for Streamers: A Viewer-Ready Plan
Run a Palworld server for streamers with a practical plan for access, moderation, player counts, maintenance, and where your players connect.
You will need
- Access to the server settings and player list
- A rough count of people likely to join at the same time
- One trusted moderator who can handle game admin tasks
A Palworld server for streamers should run separately from the PC sending your broadcast, with a clear way to admit viewers, remove troublemakers, and schedule maintenance between sessions. Count the people joining the world, not everyone watching, and treat the server’s configured 32-player maximum as a ceiling rather than a performance promise. This guide gives you a pre-stream plan for access, moderation, memory, maintenance, and location without turning the live session into tech support.
Choose a Palworld server for streamers that stays off the broadcast PC#
A dedicated server runs separately from the game client, so your broadcast PC does not also need to run the server process. You can run that program on a second computer, rent a managed server, or keep using co-op if the host and viewers all play together. The right option depends on who must stay online and who will maintain the world.
For a streamer who wants the world away from the broadcast PC and one place to manage players, restarts, and backups, we recommend Game Hosting’s Palworld server plans. Its panel includes an optional Palworld allowlist and three free backup slots; the allowlist checks connected players about every 10 seconds, so it is useful for managing a curated group but does not block the initial join.
| Setup | What runs while you stream? | Who handles upkeep? |
|---|---|---|
| Co-op | The host’s game session | The host keeps the session open and shares its current invite code |
| Separate home PC | A dedicated server on another machine | You manage updates, router access, power, and saves |
| Managed server | A dedicated server away from your home PC | The provider supplies the managed machine; you still set rules, access, and maintenance |
Co-op supports four players total, including its host, and everyone depends on that host’s active session. A dedicated server runs without the client hosting the world. That distinction matters when your stream PC closes the game, when viewers join at different times, or when you do not want to leave a home computer running after the broadcast. See how Palworld multiplayer fits together for the wider co-op, dedicated-server, and crossplay choices.
Renting does not guarantee lower ping or a lag-free stream. It moves the server process and its routine maintenance away from your broadcast PC. The game, encoder, network, and server still each have their own workload; check those separately if your stream or game already struggles.
Set a viewer access policy before sharing the password#
Palworld’s documented server setting is one shared ServerPassword; it is not a list of Twitch subscribers. The current official server configuration and command references do not document a Twitch connection that checks a viewer’s subscription before the player joins. Subscribers-only chat is a chat rule, not a game-server admission rule.
Choose who gets the game password
Decide whether this is a closed event or an open community session. Send connection details through a private channel or direct message instead of putting a password in a stream overlay or a clip that will remain public.
Separate server visibility from permission
For Xbox and PS5 players, Pocketpair requires a Community server. The
-publiclobbylaunch argument makes the server a Community server; it is not a subscriber gate. Steam and Mac players can use a server address and port. A visible listing can help the right players find the world, but it does not identify Twitch roles.Change access before the session and test it
If you use the shared password, decide when it will change and who will distribute the new one. For configuration-file changes, plan the restart and test a fresh connection before announcing that access is ready. Do not assume a password change removes people already connected.
Game Hosting has a separate Palworld allowlist in the panel because the game itself has no native whitelist. The owner can add people by ID or select players from the online, recent, or recently kicked lists. When enabled, it checks connected players about every 10 seconds and kicks people who are not listed. That delay means it can remove an unapproved player after the join begins; it does not stop that initial connection. It also does not read your Twitch subscriber list, so you still decide who to add.
If your audience includes Xbox or PS5 players, make the server join route part of your access plan. Private password sharing and Community-list visibility solve different problems. The Palworld Discord community guide has more on keeping game access separate from Discord roles and sharing status without exposing server controls.
Give moderators a ready-to-use command sheet#
Choose one trusted moderator to handle game actions while you focus on the broadcast. Pocketpair’s commands require AdminPassword to be set on the server, then the operator enters /AdminPassword <password> in-game to authenticate. Keep that admin credential separate from the player password and out of on-stream notes.
The official command list uses SteamID for kick and ban commands. Put the commands in a private moderator note, but check the player list for the identifier before using one. Do not assume every console platform displays or accepts the same identifier format that the documentation names.
/ShowPlayers
/KickPlayer <SteamID>
/BanPlayer <SteamID>
/UnBanPlayer <SteamID>
/Broadcast <MessageText>
/Shutdown [Seconds] [MessageText]A useful live routine is to have one person watch chat and another handle the game server if your team has enough people. The chat moderator can capture a report and name, while the server operator checks the player list before taking action. If you are the only moderator, keep the command note open off-stream and pause the event before troubleshooting a dispute that needs more than a quick kick.
/Broadcast can send a notice to players in the game. /Shutdown can give them a countdown and message before the server shuts down; it does not itself prove that the process will start again. Use your server panel, process manager, or host’s documented restart control to bring the world back, then have a player reconnect before posting that it is ready. See Pocketpair’s server command reference for the exact syntax.
Size for people who join, not people who watch#
A viewer watching the broadcast does not occupy a Palworld player slot. Estimate how many people will actually connect at once, then leave room for the world’s bases and activity to grow. Your follower count, Discord membership, and live audience are not server-capacity measurements.
Pocketpair’s current server requirements list 16 GB of memory and say 8 GB can boot but increases the possibility of an out-of-memory crash. The official launch argument -players=32 sets a maximum number of participants; it does not establish that every server can run 32 people smoothly. Bases, exploration, and the server’s resources still matter. For detailed memory caveats, use our Palworld RAM guide.
Game Hosting’s Palworld plans use memory tiers: Squad has 8 GB and is recommended for 8 players, Party has 12 GB and is recommended for 16, and Clan has 16 GB and is recommended for 32. Those are starting recommendations, not player caps or guarantees for a particular stream event. A planned giveaway with 24 active players is a different workload from a broadcast with 200 viewers and 5 people in the world.
| What you expect | Starting question | Check during your test session |
|---|---|---|
| A small group of regulars | Does the smallest memory recommendation fit the actual world? | Watch memory use with your normal bases and play style |
| A rotating group of viewers | How many will be playing together, not queued in chat? | Track the busiest simultaneous session and leave headroom |
| A large community event | Is the configured maximum also realistic for the server resources? | Test with the expected group before promising a full public event |
Do not raise the player setting just because more people watch. If expected attendance exceeds what you have tested, split the event into sessions or cap the number of game participants. A few scheduled sessions with a stable world are easier to moderate than an open join link that fills the server before you are ready.
Keep maintenance outside live sessions#
Give updates, configuration changes, and world resets their own place on the stream calendar. A restart is downtime, not a wipe: it stops and starts the process while keeping the world. A wipe intentionally starts a fresh world or removes progress, so do it only after the community agrees and you know which save will be kept.
Pocketpair documents /Shutdown [Seconds] [MessageText] for an announced server shutdown. Send a clear warning, use the host or process manager to restart the server afterward, and verify that the intended world loads. The official docs do not establish that every Palworld server needs a daily restart. Schedule one when your operator needs a planned maintenance window or when your own observations justify it, not as a universal fix for lag.
Before a wipe or any risky change, confirm that a usable backup exists and that someone knows how to restore it. Game Hosting includes three backup slots with restore, download, and lock controls; that describes the product feature, not a guarantee that an untested restore will succeed. If you self-host, make and verify your own copy before changing the world.
For a community that already uses Discord, agree on the time zone, expected downtime, and who will post the “back online” message. The guide to organizing a Palworld server around a Discord community covers the broader status and maintenance routine. Leave time before a broadcast to update, start the server, and confirm a player can join; the server process running is not the same as a tested connection.
Choose a region for the people who play#
The region matters to the people connected to the game server, not to viewers watching a video stream. Ask where your likely players are, compare the actual locations available to you, and test the route from the platforms they will use before you make a large event announcement. A provider’s region label alone cannot promise a particular player’s ping.
Game Hosting’s servers are in Dallas, Texas. For a stream whose active players are in North America, that gives you a concrete location to assess. If your players are mainly elsewhere, compare current host locations against where they will connect instead of assuming the location closest to the streamer is best for everyone. We have not measured latency for your audience. Use our Palworld server-location guide to compare candidate regions from the actual player connections.
Run a small private session first. Have one person connect from each platform the community expects to use, confirm they reach the same world, and keep the server name or join instructions available to moderators. Xbox and PS5 players need a Community server; if the listing route changes, update the session instructions before you invite the audience.
A viewer-ready Palworld server is mostly a set of decisions made before you go live: separate the server from the broadcast machine, decide how players get in, put an operator and commands within reach, and size for people playing together. For the co-op versus dedicated-server choice, start with Palworld multiplayer options; if your audience needs its own access rules, check the server’s actual controls before sharing the join details.
Quick answers
How do you play Palworld with your Twitch viewers?
Run a dedicated server, plan how players will get access, and have a moderator ready. Twitch chat roles do not automatically control Palworld server access.
How many viewers can join a Palworld server?
Only viewers who enter the game count as connected players. The server’s configured maximum is not a promise that every world will run well at that number.
Should you host a Palworld server on your streaming PC?
A dedicated server can run separately from your game client. A second machine or managed server keeps that server process off the PC sending your broadcast.
Can you make a Palworld server subscriber-only?
Palworld documents a shared server password, not a native Twitch subscriber gate. Game Hosting offers a separate optional allowlist that checks connected players after they join.
