7 Days to Die Crossplay Server Hosting: What You Need
Choose 7 Days to Die crossplay server hosting with the right 8 GB plan, current console rules, version and honest provider trade-offs.
You will need
- Current PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S editions
- A shared released game version
- A vanilla group that needs console crossplay
A mixed PC, PS5 and Xbox Series group needs an eligible public server: crossplay on, Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) on, no mods and no more than 8 players. That is the first check for 7 Days to Die crossplay server hosting; a provider’s “crossplay” label alone does not confirm every setting. Below, you can verify the current rules and compare the same 8 GB monthly plan size without treating unlike CPU labels as benchmarks.
What does a 7 Days to Die crossplay server need?#
A console-compatible dedicated server must meet the current requirements published by The Fun Pimps. Its help center lists these values:
| Setting | Required value |
|---|---|
ServerAllowCrossplay |
true |
EACEnabled |
true |
IgnoreEOSSanctions |
false |
ServerMaxPlayerCount |
8 or fewer |
| Server listing | Public and findable in the browser |
| Mods | None for console crossplay |
The developer’s dedicated-server cross-platform requirements also describe supported settings and ranges. These checks apply to the current PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S releases, not the separate Xbox One and PS4 editions from 2016. Our platform and edition guide explains that split in detail.
Treat eligibility as a set of conditions, not a single toggle. For example, a server can accept PC players while consoles cannot see or join it if it is private, uses an incompatible setting or has a mod installed. Check the server’s actual configuration after changing a panel preset.
Which 8 GB crossplay plan fits your group?#
For a group that wants a managed 8 GB server at a low recurring monthly price, our first recommendation is Game Hosting for 7 Days to Die. The Squad plan is $15.99 per month and lists 8 GB RAM, a Ryzen 9 9900X and 4 CPU threads. Its panel’s crossplay switch turns on EAC and public listing, sets the player cap to 8, and changes the integrated War3zuk selection to vanilla. Three backup slots are included. The service runs in Dallas, Texas, so another provider may suit a group that needs a different region.
That recommendation fits the reader who wants to get a mixed-platform world configured without hand-editing every crossplay setting. The switch covers the settings exposed in the panel; it does not establish that arbitrary files uploaded to the server’s Mods folder have been removed. For console play, separately check that the server is unmodded. If you want to add mods for a PC-only group, our server mod installation guide covers the server files and explains why mod authors own compatibility decisions.
For a same-price reference, Game Host Bros also lists an 8 GB monthly 7 Days to Die plan at $15.99 and markets crossplay for PC and consoles. The two prices and listed memory match. Its current page describes CPU as “600%” and separately names a Ryzen 9 9950X without assigning a thread count to that specific plan. Game Hosting publishes a model and 4 threads for the plan; those labels do not establish which server will perform better. Game Host Bros lists more location choices, while our service is in Dallas.
For a higher-priced, always-on 8 GB comparison, Nodecraft Pro also advertises PC and console crossplay. Its page lists $27.99 for the first month, then $39.98 per month; the plan is described as continuously online. Nodecraft also offers an 8 GB Lite plan for $16.69 the first month and $23.84 per month afterward, but Lite hibernates when unused, so it is a different fit for a world meant to stay online. The monthly Pro plan includes manual cloud backups, weekly automatic cloud backups and automated tasks, and Nodecraft lists more locations. Prices and features were checked on the providers’ plan pages October 5, 2026.
Among these selected 8 GB crossplay plans, Game Hosting’s $15.99 recurring monthly price is lower than Nodecraft Pro’s $39.98 renewal; Game Host Bros is a $15.99 price match. This is a small comparison, not a ranking of the whole market. The Fun Pimps’ eight-player crossplay maximum is separate from a plan’s suggested player count or RAM recommendation, and prices, first-month promotions, locations and backup terms can change.
What does each host include beyond the plan price?#
Backups and server controls matter because version changes and mod experiments can put a world at risk. Game Hosting includes three backup slots that can be scheduled, restored, downloaded and locked from the panel. Its crossplay setting applies the EAC, public-listing and player-cap values together, which reduces the number of settings a new admin has to find.
Game Host Bros’ public plan page also describes a crossplay option. Nodecraft Pro lists manual and weekly cloud backups and automated tasks; those are useful strengths to weigh against our three panel backup slots and the locations your players need. Compare the exact backup controls and terms on the selected plan. A plan feature list does not tell you how quickly a particular world will load or how it will perform during a blood moon; those claims need comparable testing that this guide has not performed.
If a free local co-op session already works for everyone and one friend will always be online, a rented server may add a bill without solving a real problem. Managed hosting makes more sense when the world needs to stay available while its usual host is offline or when the group does not want to operate a server at home. For the full choice between providers and plan details beyond crossplay, use our 7 Days to Die host checklist.
Disclosure: Game Hosting operates one of the services compared here. The comparison uses public plan details checked October 5, 2026; we did not run an independent performance test.
Should a console group use Stable or Experimental?#
For a group with console players, start with the released Stable version and check that the server and every client show the same version. The Fun Pimps announced V3.3.0 Stable on October 5, 2026. Its latest experimental post located for this guide was V3.3.0 EXP b18 from September 24. SteamDB showed the public, v3.3.0 and latest_experimental branches on build 25661908 when checked October 5, but branch labels and builds can change independently.
Use the game’s displayed version and the provider’s current branch details to confirm what is actually installed. An “experimental” label does not guarantee a newer build, and choosing the same branch name is not enough if the server and players have different versions. The official multiplayer network troubleshooting page says the server and players must run a matching version.
Do not assume a save can move safely between branches or builds. The sources checked for this guide do not establish a general save-conversion guarantee. Before switching a world, make a restorable backup and check the game and host guidance for the specific version change. If an overhaul is involved, check the version requirements from its author too.
How do saves, SandboxCode and mods affect crossplay?#
Since V3.0, gameplay options such as difficulty and loot settings are represented through SandboxCode. Older tutorials that tell you to copy a long list of gameplay properties into serverconfig.xml may describe an earlier configuration method. Use the editor or documentation for the exact build you run, and avoid changing a live world’s settings until you have a backup.
Crossplay with consoles requires a vanilla server. Official mod-use guidance warns that mods can destabilize a game and says players need matching versions. A PC group that wants an overhaul should verify that mod’s version and installation requirements with its author, keep the server and clients aligned, and test with a copy of the save. War3zuk AIO is made by War3zuk; any other community mod likewise remains its author’s work. The host’s installer does not make third-party content compatible with every update.
If your group wants console players, choose vanilla and check that no manually uploaded mod files remain. If it wants a modded PC world, accept that consoles cannot join that server. The server-mod guide owns the installation walkthrough, so this page stays focused on whether the hosting plan fits.
How do console players find the server?#
Console players use the in-game server browser and search for the public server by name. Make the listing discoverable and use the same name the group expects to find. Current host instructions describe this browser-and-name route; this guide does not claim that every console client lacks a direct-IP option.
If the listing is missing, first check public visibility, crossplay, EAC, the 8-player maximum, version and whether any mods remain. These are eligibility checks, not a full connection repair. Our crossplay overview explains which modern editions can join; a focused joining walkthrough is a separate task from choosing a host.
When is crossplay hosting the wrong fit?#
Crossplay hosting is the wrong target if someone owns only the 2016 Xbox One or PS4 edition, if your group needs more than 8 players, or if the group wants a modded overhaul. A hosting plan cannot bridge the legacy console game to the modern release, raise the game’s documented console limit or make mods compatible with console clients.
For a PC-only group, compare the mod’s supported build and requirements before choosing a branch or plan. For a group that can keep one player online and does not need a persistent world, a normal co-op session may be enough. If you are still choosing between managed providers, self-hosting and a home PC, start with the broader host selection checklist rather than paying for a crossplay feature you will not use.
What should you verify before moving your world?#
Before starting or migrating the server, confirm these details with the group and the host:
- Everyone owns the current PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S edition.
- The server and clients use the same released game version.
- Crossplay and EAC are enabled; sanctions are not ignored; the server is public and capped at 8 players.
- No uploaded mod files or overhaul are left on the server.
- You have a backup you can restore before changing branches or world settings.
- The server location works for the people who will play most often; compare the group’s routes with this guide to choosing a 7 Days to Die server region.
That small check prevents an edition, branch or mod mismatch from looking like a hosting failure. Once those conditions fit, compare the exact plan resources, recurring price, region and backup controls—not just the provider’s crossplay label.
Quick answers
Is 7 Days to Die crossplay on servers?
Yes. PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can share a dedicated server when it uses a compatible released version and meets the current console requirements.
Which hosting service is best for 7 Days to Die?
It depends on your region and the features you need. Game Hosting is our first recommendation for a managed 8 GB monthly plan with published CPU allocation, a crossplay switch and three backup slots in Dallas.
Can console players join a 7 Days to Die server by IP?
Use the in-game server browser and search by name. Direct-IP options for current console clients were not verified here; follow current platform-specific joining instructions.
Can a modded server support PS5 or Xbox crossplay?
No. Console-compatible crossplay requires an unmodded server, so choose either a vanilla crossplay world or a modded PC group.
Can the 2016 Xbox One or PS4 edition join a modern crossplay server?
No. Those legacy editions are separate from the current PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release.
