How much is a 7 Days to Die server? A managed plan starts at $15.99 per month for 8 GB; larger plans cost $23.99 for 12 GB or $31.99 for 16 GB. For a group that wants a clear monthly bill with game-specific admin tools included, our first recommendation is Game Hosting’s 7 Days to Die plans: each plan publishes its memory amount, includes the game panel and three free backup slots, and has no per-player fee. Its servers are in Dallas, Texas. The examples below cover recurring prices and upfront annual totals, not every host on the market.

How much does a 7 Days to Die server cost per month?#

For the published Game Hosting plans, the monthly list price is $15.99 for 8 GB, $23.99 for 12 GB and $31.99 for 16 GB. These are USD plan prices, checked on October 5, 2026. The tiers use the same named Ryzen 9 9900X CPU with 4 threads; memory is the plan difference. Player counts describe what each plan is recommended for, not a cap enforced by the host.

Plan Published memory Game Hosting’s plan fit Monthly list price
Squad 8 GB Plays well with 8; console crossplay follows the game’s 8-player limit $15.99
Party 12 GB Plays well with 16; larger horde nights, a 10 km map or a full overhaul $23.99
Clan 16 GB Plays well with 24; a community with an overhaul and weekly blood moons $31.99

The first amount that matters is the recurring price for the memory tier you choose. A provider’s “from” price may refer to fewer slots, a smaller allocation, a first-month discount or a plan that behaves differently when nobody is playing. Read the plan details and the renewal amount before treating it as your group’s monthly budget.

For a closer look at what lower headline prices include, see our guide to cheap 7 Days to Die server hosting, including the difference between a published RAM tier and a slot-based offer.

These tiers are Game Hosting’s plan recommendations, not universal RAM minimums for every map, mod or workload. A 7 Days to Die server’s real needs depend on what your group runs. If the published fit does not match your map or overhaul, ask the host what the exact plan includes instead of assuming that a player count guarantees a certain performance level.

Match the monthly bill to your group#

For a small group on Game Hosting, two or four players still start at the 8 GB tier: $15.99 per month. A modern console-crossplay group of up to eight also uses that plan, but it must meet the game’s crossplay requirements. If a PC group wants a full overhaul or a larger 10 km map, the published 12 GB recommendation is $23.99 per month. A PC community planning around 16 players also maps to that 12 GB tier.

Group’s starting scenario Example tier Monthly bill Important limit
Duo on a private world 8 GB $15.99 A smaller headcount does not create a lower listed tier
Four friends playing together 8 GB $15.99 This is a starting fit, not a claim about every mod or map
Up to 8 players with modern console crossplay 8 GB $15.99 Public listing, EAC on, crossplay on, no mods and 8 players maximum
PC group choosing a full overhaul 12 GB $23.99 Check the overhaul author’s current game-version support
PC community planning around 16 players 12 GB $23.99 This plan’s player count is a recommendation, not a technical cap

The crossplay row is specifically about the current PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions. It does not include the separate 2016 Xbox One/PS4 release. The official crossplay server requirements require a public server, Easy Anti-Cheat, crossplay, no mods and no more than eight players. Console players find compatible servers in the in-game browser, so do not budget for an overhaul and assume console friends can join that same world.

This table prices five common starting situations; it does not claim each group needs exactly this memory on every host. A 16 GB plan is $31.99 per month if your community needs that tier. Compare the provider’s stated resource allocation and your actual server setup, then leave room for a version or mod requirement that changes the plan fit.

Split the monthly bill before you subscribe

Game Hosting bills one account holder; a plan does not divide its charge between friends. If your group reimburses one person, agree on the amount, due date and a backup payer before the first renewal. At the $15.99 Squad price, four equal shares are about $4 each, six are about $2.67 each and eight are about $2 each; adjust one or more shares for rounding so contributions equal the actual charge. Do not treat an annual average as a monthly installment: the yearly amount is paid upfront.

Keep the billing account with one named owner and decide who can help manage the server separately. The owner can invite friends by email to help run it, but collaborators do not see billing. Do not share the account password as a substitute for an invitation. If the payer may leave, agree who will pay next and when the group will export its world. Backups are useful copies, not a guarantee of a successful restore; see how to cancel and save your world for the export steps and deletion timing.

Budget extra memory for larger maps or an overhaul#

A larger plan changes the monthly bill by $8 between 8 GB and 12 GB, then by another $8 between 12 GB and 16 GB. That is the amount to budget for Game Hosting’s next memory tier; it is not a measured performance gain. The 12 GB plan is listed for larger horde nights on a 10 km map or a full overhaul. The 16 GB plan is listed for a community running an overhaul and weekly blood moons.

Treat an overhaul as a compatibility decision as well as a budget line. Check its author’s release notes for the exact game version, and check whether every player needs the same client-side files. A modded PC server cannot use console crossplay. If you need help with the server-side install and file placement, our 7 Days to Die server-mod guide covers that work; our multiplayer mod guide labels current examples and their version requirements.

As checked October 13, 2026, V3.3.0 is the current stable release; V3.3.0 b18 is also listed on the experimental branch. The dedicated server and clients need compatible game versions, and an experimental branch can change what your mod supports. Check the official V3.3.0 Stable announcement and the current branch listing before updating.

Since V3.0, many gameplay options moved from separate serverconfig XML properties into the SandboxCode value. Do not copy old difficulty, loot or blood-moon properties from an outdated guide and expect them to change the current game. The official V3.0 release notes describe the settings change. Back up a world before an update, then check the game’s and mod author’s notes for that exact branch; no plan price guarantees every save or overhaul will survive a version change.

Can I upgrade my server plan later?

You can review a plan change in Billing before confirming it. The preview shows the new memory amount and charge; an upgrade bills the prorated difference for the remaining days, then the new RAM limit is expected to apply within a minute without reinstalling the server. The panel sends a notice when the change completes. Moving from 8 GB to 12 GB or from 12 GB to 16 GB adds $8 to the monthly list price. A plan change adjusts the resource limit; it does not guarantee that lag will improve or that a particular map or mod will fit.

Before changing tiers, check the CPU and memory graphs during a busy session and note what the server is doing. If memory stays near its limit, consider the next published tier and compare the price in Billing. If the issue is CPU load, client frame rate, network latency, an incompatible mod or a disk limit, more RAM may not address it. A lower tier reduces RAM and may need a restart if the new limit is slow to apply. Billing changes are unavailable when the subscription is past due or canceled.

Compare plans that publish the same RAM and term#

Among these selected 8 GB monthly plans, we recommend Game Hosting first for the group that wants a published recurring amount and admin features in one place. Its 8 GB tier is $15.99 per month, with a game panel, scheduled and manual backup controls, and three free backup slots. Its servers are in Dallas, Texas. This selection compares public plan pages checked October 5, 2026; it is an editorial price comparison, not an independent performance test or a ranking of the whole market.

Provider and plan Published RAM Monthly price What changes the comparison
Game Hosting Squad 8 GB $15.99 recurring Ryzen 9 9900X with 4 threads; Dallas, Texas; three free backup slots and game panel
Nodecraft Pro 8 GB $27.99 first month, then $39.98 recurring Always-on tier with manual cloud backups and wider location choice; the first-month discount does not describe renewal
Nodecraft Lite 8 GB $16.69 first month, then $23.84 recurring Lower cost than Pro, but it hibernates when unused, so it is a different fit for a world expected to stay online

The recurring comparison uses the same stated RAM and monthly billing. Nodecraft’s Pro first-month price is a promotion; its regular monthly amount is $39.98. Its Lite plan costs less but hibernates, which changes when players can reach the world. Nodecraft also lists more location choices and manual cloud backups; compare those strengths with our three backup slots before deciding.

This is a deliberately small sample. Other providers publish cheaper plans, and some sell by slots or player count without a comparable RAM number. A same-player plan is not automatically the same resource allocation. Our host-selection checklist compares more of the decisions that affect a provider choice, including region, updates, backups and crossplay.

Calculate the yearly total before taking the discount#

Game Hosting’s annual option discounts the same plan by 30% when you pay for a year up front. The public plan picker shows the yearly total as well as its monthly average; checked October 5, 2026. Use the total in your budget because that is the amount due for the annual term.

Plan Pay monthly for 12 months Pay yearly up front Average per month on yearly billing
8 GB $191.88 $134.32 $11.19
12 GB $287.88 $201.52 $16.79
16 GB $383.88 $268.72 $22.39

For example, the 8 GB plan saves $57.56 over 12 monthly payments, but requires $134.32 at once. The 12 GB plan saves $86.36 and the 16 GB plan saves $115.16. This is simple arithmetic on the displayed plan prices, not a claim that paying yearly is right for every group. If your friends may stop playing, a lower monthly commitment can be easier to leave; if the world has a stable long-term group, compare the upfront amount with the discount.

Annual terms vary by host. Check whether a listed percentage applies to the same 12-month term, whether it is an introductory deal and what renewal costs. A deeper break-even comparison should use the same billing period and show the amount due up front; do not compare a monthly price with an annual average alone.

Check the plan unit and add-ons before checkout#

Look at what the price measures. A RAM-tier plan states how much memory the server gets. A slot- or player-priced plan states a player allowance, which does not tell you the same thing. For example, Indifferent Broccoli’s 7 Days to Die page lists an 8-player plan at $15.99 per month but does not publish a matching RAM amount. Host Havoc’s game page quotes slot pricing and a starting price without showing the RAM for that offer. Those prices may fit a budget, but they are not 8 GB comparisons.

Then check the selected term, renewal amount, billing currency and checkout summary. Taxes depend on billing details, so use the final amount shown for your address rather than adding a guessed percentage. Confirm whether backups, a panel, update controls or support are part of the plan, and read any separate charge before selecting an extra. Game Hosting includes the game panel and three free backup slots on every tier, with scheduled or manual backups and restore, download and lock controls.

Do not treat a “from” amount as the complete cost until you know which plan it opens. An advertised slot count can differ from the number of players who should use your world, and a first-month deal can roll into a different recurring bill. If a feature or add-on is not described on the provider’s current price page, ask the provider or check its terms; silence is not proof that the feature is missing or included.

Compare a rental bill with running your own PC#

A managed plan has a visible recurring price. A home server does not have one universal electricity total: hardware, what the PC is doing, hours online and the local electricity rate all change it. Measure your own PC at the wall while it runs the server, then use your utility bill’s price per kWh. Do not substitute a typical wattage copied from a different computer.

Self-hosting can cost less for a group that already owns a suitable machine, has a reachable home connection and is happy to handle updates and backups. If you need to buy hardware or leave a gaming PC on when nobody is home, include those actual costs too. Our guide to hosting your own server or renting has the meter-based electricity formula and explains the trade-offs.

The best estimate is the one based on your own electricity bill and the work your group accepts. Do not call home hosting free if it needs a new machine, and do not assume a rental fixes an incompatible client, mod or save. Once you have a realistic monthly budget, use our 7 Days to Die server host checklist to compare plans that fit the same platforms and version.
