You will need

  • A 7 Days to Die group and the platforms its players use
  • The number of players who need to join at the same time

A Nitrado 7 Days to Die server is worth considering if your group wants a listed console crossplay option, but its slot count does not tell you how much RAM the server gets. The US offer showed an 8-slot subscription at $12.99 for 30 days when checked October 8, 2026. Compare that with the player platforms, mod plans, published resources and renewal terms your group needs. This guide checks those details against a few alternatives and explains where each one fits. To see what The Fun Pimps currently says about providers it links, read our guide to Blue Fang and TFP’s current provider list. To compare everyday panel usability separately, use our control panel tasks to test first.

Decide whether Nitrado matches your player group#

Nitrado’s strongest 7 Days to Die distinction is its advertised crossplay setup. Its current US offer says the crossplay switch applies the game’s restrictions: no more than 8 players, mods off, EAC on and EOS sanctions not ignored. Those are meaningful limits. A 10-slot listing does not turn into a 10-player crossplay server.

The current crossplay route is for the modern PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions. It does not make the separate 2016 Xbox One or PS4 release compatible. The official dedicated-server crossplay requirements also require a public server listing and the same core settings. Console players find a server in the in-game browser; they cannot join by typing its IP.

If your group values published memory and hardware details, we recommend Game Hosting’s 7 Days to Die plans. The plans publish 8, 12 or 16 GB of memory, a Ryzen 9 9900X with 4 CPU threads, and a panel with V3 SandboxCode settings, version selection and a crossplay configuration. That gives you concrete resources and controls to compare; it does not prove a performance result or a successful console join. Nitrado’s live offer explicitly advertises console crossplay, while we have not verified a console joining a Game Hosting server. Read our G-Portal plans and alternatives for another current slot-priced listing and crossplay claim.

Compare the plans using the same units#

The Nitrado US offer is priced by slots and rental term, while Game Hosting sells fixed memory plans by the month. A slot is not a GB of RAM, so these prices are not a like-for-like performance comparison.

Option checked October 8, 2026 Published plan detail Useful distinction
Game Hosting 8 GB for $15.99 per month; 12 GB for $23.99; 16 GB for $31.99 Publishes memory and CPU details; PC only
Nitrado 8 slots for $12.99 per 30-day subscription; 10 slots shown at $16.19 Advertises crossplay; crossplay remains capped at 8; no plan RAM shown
G-Portal 8 slots shown at $13.90 per 30 days in US Dallas Also sells by slots; its product page advertises crossplay

Nitrado’s page also displayed an 8-slot 90-day price of $35.49. The checkout’s selected location, billing type and renewal terms matter: subscription and prepaid products can differ, and promotional or dynamic prices can move. Confirm the amount and cancellation terms on the final order screen rather than treating this snapshot as a quote.

The practical difference is what the listing lets you know before buying. Slot pricing helps estimate a small group’s listed capacity, but it does not disclose the memory available to the world. A RAM plan makes that resource explicit, though it still does not guarantee a particular frame rate, map-generation time or player experience. Match the plan model to the information you want to compare.

Check the version and settings before you start a world#

The current stable PC release is V3.3.0, announced October 5, 2026. Experimental is a separate branch or product choice, depending on the host. Check the version shown in the panel and make sure every player can run a compatible client version before creating a long-term save.

There is an important documentation trap: Nitrado’s older crossplay tutorial was published in June 2025 and lists many settings as individual serverconfig.xml values. Since V3.0, a large set of gameplay options moved into SandboxCode; copying the old list as current instructions can leave you changing properties that no longer control those options. The V3.3.0 Stable release notes and current server configuration should take priority over an older how-to.

For crossplay, verify the current public-listing, EAC, player-count and sanctions settings in the host’s panel. Keep all gameplay values within the game’s official console-safe limits. If a host’s guide gives legacy XML fields, ask support which V3.3 control replaces them instead of pasting the old values into a live world.

Choose between crossplay and mods#

Crossplay and mods are separate server choices. Nitrado advertises mod installation for PC and says enabling crossplay disables mods. That means a group with console players should plan for a vanilla server; a PC group can investigate mods, but must still check the current game version and each mod author’s compatibility notes.

Your group Better starting point Check first
PC, PS5 and Xbox Series players together A host with a current crossplay setup, such as Nitrado’s advertised toggle 8-player cap, public listing, EAC on, mods off, supported console edition
PC players using mods PC-only hosting with the exact mod and game version confirmed Required client files, server files, EAC needs and save compatibility
PC players who may switch to crossplay later Keep a separate vanilla save or test the transition on a copy Do not assume modded saves become safe or compatible after removing mods

The official cross-platform server page is the reference for technical eligibility, not a named mod-compatibility list. Nitrado’s statement that it supports mods does not prove that a specific overhaul works on V3.3.0 or that an existing modded save will load cleanly after a change.

Compare backups and recovery without assuming a restore works#

Nitrado advertises automated backups on its 7 Days to Die offer. That is useful to know, but the product page reviewed did not establish the 7DTD backup count, retention period or a tested restore path. Ask how many restore points are kept, whether you can download a copy, and what happens to the server while a restore runs.

Game Hosting includes three backup slots for this game, with panel controls to create and restore a copy. The slot count describes retained copies, not a promise that every recovery scenario has been tested. Whichever host you choose, download an independent copy before major version changes, mod changes or world edits. A backup label is only useful if you know what it contains and how to recover it.

Read support, refund and uptime terms separately#

Nitrado’s offer describes multilingual support, and its support entry includes the FIN automated assistant. The current public refund guidance lists exclusions for active subscriptions and renewals. The displayed 14-day window is not a blanket refund promise for every purchase type, so check the exact US checkout terms before paying.

Nitrado’s general support FAQ now advertises 99.9% uptime and says significant downtime is covered under an SLA. In the public material reviewed for this comparison, we could not verify a 7 Days to Die plan-specific credit formula, claim deadline or exclusions. Treat the uptime figure as the provider’s published claim, and ask what remedy applies to the exact service you are buying. Game Hosting publishes a fixed downtime-credit formula in its own terms; that is a policy comparison, not a claim that one server performs better.

Pick the host that fits the commitment#

Choose Nitrado when your priority is a listed path for modern-console crossplay, a broad choice of locations, or a slot-priced plan. Keep the crossplay cap at 8 in mind, and expect to run without mods while console players are in the group.

Choose a memory-priced host when you want RAM and CPU specifications up front or plan to run a PC-only mod setup. For Game Hosting, the 7 Days to Die plans show those resources and include the per-game panel, which exposes crossplay settings; verify the selected configuration and actual console compatibility before relying on it. If you are still comparing providers, start with how to choose a 7 Days to Die host and use the separate crossplay server checklist to verify any provider’s settings.

How this comparison was checked#

Prices and provider features above were checked on public US pages on October 8, 2026. They are listing claims, not performance tests; slot count and RAM measure different things. Game Hosting details come from its current plan and panel documentation. We could not capture a dependable live US Google result order because the DataForSEO request returned error 50000, so this guide makes no ranking, People Also Ask or AI Overview claim. The only keyword volume used is the US snapshot from October 1, 2026.
