G-Portal 7 Days to Die Server: Plans and Alternatives
Compare G-Portal 7 Days to Die server slots, crossplay, live maps, backup storage and support with alternatives before choosing a plan.
You will need
- Know whether the group is PC-only or wants modern console crossplay
- Decide whether you value slot pricing, disclosed memory or mod support
G-Portal sells 7 Days to Die servers by player slots, and its US Dallas page showed 8 slots for $13.90 per 30 days on October 8, 2026. The page also advertises crossplay, a live-map workflow, 50 GB of backup storage and pre-installed mods. Those features may suit a group that wants a slot-priced server or a particular region. The offer does not publish plan-specific RAM or CPU, so compare it with memory-priced plans by what each listing actually tells you.
For the current wording on providers The Fun Pimps links, see our guide to Blue Fang and TFP’s provider list. That page is a snapshot of linked providers, separate from this review of G-Portal’s own offer.
For a PC group that values published resources and an integrated settings panel, we recommend Game Hosting’s 7 Days to Die plans. The 8 GB Squad plan is $15.99 per month and publishes its Ryzen 9 9900X processor and four CPU threads. That is a useful specification comparison, not a performance result. We have not tested a console player joining this server; check the host’s current crossplay setup with your group before committing a developed world.
Understand what one-server crossplay requires#
G-Portal advertises crossplay for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That refers to the current editions. It does not include the separate 2016 Xbox One and PS4 release. The Fun Pimps’ current dedicated-server requirements say a crossplay server must allow crossplay, use Easy Anti-Cheat, keep EOS sanctions enabled, appear in the public list, run without mods and cap the server at eight players. Our crossplay server hosting guide explains how to check those requirements with a host.
G-Portal’s PC offer lists up to 30 slots, while its console product pages show up to eight. Those are product limits, not proof that a 30-player PC server can accept 30 players while crossplay is enabled. If your group mixes platforms, follow the game’s eight-player ceiling and confirm the selected product uses the required settings. The official rules define eligibility; this article does not report a hands-on console join test.
Console crossplay and an overhaul are different choices. A vanilla server can meet the crossplay rules; a modded setup cannot. If every player is on PC, choose the exact game branch and mods first, then verify each mod author’s supported build and client-file requirements. A server listing that says “mod support” does not prove an overhaul works with V3.3.0 or that an existing save will survive a change.
Compare slots with a memory-priced plan#
G-Portal’s public offer is priced by player slots and rental term. It does not disclose plan RAM or CPU. A slot count can help estimate a group’s listed capacity, but it cannot be converted into gigabytes or used by itself to predict how a world will perform.
| Option checked October 8, 2026 | Published detail | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| G-Portal, US Dallas | 8 slots for $13.90 per 30 days; 6 slots for $10.99 | Slot allowance and selected term; no plan RAM/CPU shown |
| Game Hosting, Dallas | 8 GB for $15.99 per month; Ryzen 9 9900X, 4 CPU threads | Published memory and processor details; PC hosting |
The G-Portal price is a dated page snapshot, not a quote. The product page can change with region and rental duration; verify the selected location, term and total before ordering. The two rows use unlike plan units, so the price difference does not show which server is the better value or faster. For another slot-based offer with its own location and mod-installer trade-offs, compare Host Havoc features and alternatives; check the selected plan’s memory before comparing its starting price with a RAM-listed plan.
If you want to compare more than these two offers, our 7 Days to Die host checklist covers version control, player platforms, backups and other providers. For a focused comparison of Nitrado’s crossplay listing and slot plan, see Nitrado plans and alternatives. Our broader server cost guide explains how recurring prices and different plan units affect a budget.
Check the live-map workflow before you need it#
G-Portal documents a live-map setup for 7 Days to Die. Its current live map guide says to stop the server, enable Telnet and set its password, then enable map rendering and the Web Dashboard. After saving and starting the server, run rendermap from the Web Console and open the live-map view. The first render can take time.
That documented workflow is more useful than assuming the feature appears automatically. Check the current panel labels and permissions on the product you intend to rent. Before using a map tool on an established world, keep a separate copy of the save. Game Hosting’s panel includes an integrated map that displays player positions and in-game time; these are documented controls, not a claim that we compared map rendering speed.
Read backup storage and restore points as separate details#
G-Portal’s 7 Days to Die offer lists 50 GB of backup storage. Storage capacity does not tell you how many restore points the plan keeps, how long they remain, whether you can download them, or what a restore does to a running server. Its help material describes backup creation in the server-menu Backup tab, but the public offer does not establish a tested recovery outcome for this comparison.
Ask how often backups run, how many copies are retained, and whether you can download one before a major update or mod change. Game Hosting includes three backup slots, with panel actions to schedule, restore, download and lock a copy. Those controls document the available workflow; we did not perform a restore test for this article. Keep an independent copy before changing a branch or adding an overhaul.
Check game versions and mods with their authors#
The Fun Pimps lists V3.3.0 as the stable release in its official release notes. In an anonymous SteamCMD check on October 8, the public and latest_experimental branches both reported build ID 25661908; a branch snapshot can change, so check the host’s current selector before starting a long-term world. Since V3.0, many gameplay settings use SandboxCode; old tutorials that treat every option as an active serverconfig.xml field may no longer describe the current setup. Our V3 server settings reference explains the current settings model.
G-Portal advertises pre-installed choices such as Darkness Falls, and its mod guide describes switching a pre-installed option or uploading custom files. Darkness Falls is created by KhaineGB; it is a third-party overhaul, not a G-Portal or Game Hosting product. Its currently supported game version may differ from stable V3.3.0. Check the mod author’s release information and the exact server package before you select it.
For another overhaul, verify the author’s supported game branch, required client files, EAC requirements and save compatibility. An experimental build or older stable release may be necessary, and switching back can damage a save. Our server mod installation guide explains how to check the server and player files before changing a world.
Compare support and purchase terms separately#
G-Portal advertises ticket support at all hours. Its support page also describes a paid Fast Lane option for priority tickets under stated conditions. The public pages reviewed for this guide do not establish a support response result for a specific 7 Days to Die issue, so we do not compare response speed.
Read the terms for the order you are actually placing. G-Portal’s current terms include both a 14-day refund statement and a separate 72-hour rule for recurring payments, with exclusions. Because those provisions differ by purchase circumstance, check the applicable terms at checkout rather than relying on a blanket refund summary. The terms also state 99% annual access subject to exceptions; that is a contractual availability statement, not an independently measured uptime result.
Pick a host by platform, region and disclosed resources#
G-Portal can fit a group that wants its slot-based offer, a listed crossplay option, a documented live map or one of its available locations. Its page showed US regions including Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington, DC and New York, alongside locations in other regions. Check that your preferred region appears for the exact game product and term you plan to buy.
For a PC-only group that wants memory and CPU disclosed before checkout, Game Hosting is our recommendation: its 8 GB Squad plan lists four Ryzen 9 9900X threads and includes the game panel. The panel exposes crossplay configuration, but the setup must still follow the official public-listing, EAC, no-mod and eight-player rules. Uploaded mods require separate compatibility checks, and we have not verified a console join in this article. See the current 7 Days to Die hosting plans and compare the published details with your group’s requirements.
Choose based on what you need to know before paying: console eligibility and region, memory disclosure, mod version, map workflow and backup recovery. Then verify the exact product and order terms. A host’s advertised slots or feature list is a starting point for that check, not a promise about your save or gameplay experience.
How this comparison was checked#
G-Portal’s public product and help pages were reviewed on October 8, 2026, with the product selector set to USA (Dallas). The displayed 8-slot price was $13.90 per 30 days; prices may vary by selected region and term. Game Hosting claims were checked against its approved facts and current site/panel code. Crossplay requirements and the stable build were checked against current The Fun Pimps documentation. This is a comparison of published claims and documented controls; we did not test console joins, backup restoration, mod compatibility or server performance. The exact-keyword metric is the US snapshot dated October 1, 2026; no live rank or AI Overview position is claimed.
