Shockbyte vs BisectHosting for Palworld: Plans Compared
Compare Shockbyte and BisectHosting Palworld plans by RAM, price, mods, backups and regions, with clear checks before you choose.
You will need
- List the most players you expect online at once
- Note whether your group includes Xbox or PlayStation players
- Choose a monthly billing period and the closest region to your group
Shockbyte vs BisectHosting for Palworld comes down to more than a player count: the monthly quotes checked here favor BisectHosting for two group sizes, while both providers list RAM below Pocketpair’s 16 GB recommendation. This is a comparison of public offers and setup documentation by Game Hosting, a competing server host; we did not rent or test either service. Use the numbers as a starting point, then verify the plan, renewal price, server location and mod requirements you actually need.
See Shockbyte and BisectHosting Palworld offers at a glance#
For a straightforward memory-based plan, we recommend Game Hosting. Its 8 GB Palworld tier costs $16.99 per month, compared with Shockbyte’s listed 8 GB tier at $21.99, and includes the integrated panel and three free backup slots. BisectHosting’s base-memory-plus-boost quotes need a separate comparison; they are not the same allocation label.
Both providers sell Palworld servers, but their public plan cards describe resources differently. Shockbyte publishes fixed tiers with RAM and player recommendations. BisectHosting’s selector asks how many players you expect, then recommends a plan with a RAM label and a separate “RAM Boost” label. These offer-page and selector snapshots were checked on October 1, 2026.
| Provider | What its current offer page shows | Published management details |
|---|---|---|
| Shockbyte | 6 GB for 10 players at $16.99/month; 8 GB for 20 at $21.99; 10 GB for 32 at $26.99 | Lists a control panel, sFTP, scheduled restarts, automatic backups, global locations, and support |
| BisectHosting | BisectOne custom plans; the selector asks for player count, location and billing cycle | Lists the Starbase panel, 3 days of free server backups, mod support, 21 worldwide locations, and chat support |
Shockbyte’s figures are on its Palworld offer page. BisectHosting’s general Palworld offer page and its plan selector show the configurable route. Offer pages describe what each company sells; they do not show a shared benchmark of server speed, uptime, support response, or successful backup restores.
We checked BisectHosting with the selector set to US West and USD monthly billing. Its recommendation changed when we changed the expected player count, so it is more useful to compare specific selections than to quote one starting price. The honest guide to renting a Palworld server explains when a managed server helps and when hosting your own is enough. For another example of a provider head-to-head, see our Nitrado vs GPORTAL comparison.
Compare monthly price and advertised memory for 8 or 16 players#
For both example group sizes, BisectHosting’s displayed recommended plan was cheaper per month than the nearest Shockbyte tier shown for a similar number of players. That is a comparison of listed offers, not proof that the plans have equal usable memory, performance or capacity.
| Expected players | Shockbyte listed tier | BisectHosting selector recommendation (US West) | Displayed monthly difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | 6 GB, 10-player tier: $16.99 | 4 GB + 2 GB RAM Boost: $11.99 | BisectHosting is $5 less |
| 16 | 8 GB, 20-player tier: $21.99 | 6 GB + 2 GB RAM Boost: $17.99 | BisectHosting is $4 less |
The BisectHosting selector labels the extra 2 GB as a RAM Boost included with each recommended plan. The amounts above are the monthly prices displayed beside those cards with optional BisectBoost and dedicated-IP add-ons off, and without a promo code. We did not proceed to checkout. Confirm the current location, what the boost includes, taxes if applicable, first charge and renewal total before you order. Shockbyte’s monthly tiers also can change; check the terms for the exact plan.
Do not read the player number as a promise that every world with that many players will run well. Shockbyte calls its limits player plans; BisectHosting’s selector uses expected concurrent players to recommend a configuration. Neither label is a test of your bases, mods, CPU load or busiest session. The provider checklist covers what to ask any host when its offer leaves a resource or service detail unclear.
Also compare the RAM labels with Pocketpair’s current server requirements: the official page lists 16 GB as recommended, while 8 GB can boot with a higher out-of-memory crash risk. Shockbyte’s published 6 GB and 8 GB tiers are below that recommendation. BisectHosting’s displayed combinations are 6 GB total by the card labels for the 8-player recommendation and 8 GB for the 16-player recommendation, if its advertised boosts are counted. Those are still offer labels, not a promise that the boost behaves like separate guaranteed memory. If memory headroom is your main concern, ask what is reserved for the Palworld process and how upgrades work; don’t assume a slot tier answers that. Our free Palworld server requirements tool gives a starting figure for your group to hold both offers against.
Compare the panels, restart controls and backups#
Both companies document ways to manage files and backups, but public feature lists cannot tell you whether the panel feels easier to use or whether restoring your particular world will work.
| Task | Shockbyte documentation | BisectHosting documentation | What to confirm yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| Change settings | Offers a control panel and full sFTP access; its Palworld guides show configuration and file workflows | Starbase has Palworld settings and a Files tab | Whether your preferred settings are exposed and whether manual files remain available; our settings generator writes a file to upload over sFTP |
| Restart on a schedule | Offer page advertises scheduled restarts | Starbase supports scheduled tasks and power actions including restart | Whether the restart warns players and gives Palworld time to save |
| Create backups | Offer page advertises automatic backups; its file-backup guide describes scheduling | Offer page advertises 3 days of free backups; Backup Manager supports scheduled backups, download and restore | How often they run, which files are included, retention and where to find the restore guide |
Shockbyte’s backup guide says its control panel can schedule file backups and recommends a 24-hour interval. That recommendation is not proof of a retention period or a successful restore. BisectHosting’s Backup Manager guide shows manual and scheduled backups, with download and restore controls. The Palworld offer advertises 3 days of free backups, but the pages checked here do not establish a matching backup frequency or successful recovery for a test world.
Before moving a world, find the exact restore steps for the plan you are buying. Ask whether you can download the full save to your own computer, how many backups remain available, and whether you can restore only Palworld files without replacing unrelated data. If your group wants to compare backup features beyond these two plans, our Palworld hosting comparison guide explains how to evaluate claims without treating them as test results.
Check which Palworld mods each provider can run#
Both hosts describe Palworld mod support, but the server build and each mod’s requirements matter more than a “mod support” badge. Pocketpair’s official mod guide says server-side mods currently work only on the Windows dedicated-server edition. A mod also needs a server install rule marked "IsServer": true; unsupported or incompatible mods can crash the server or corrupt save data.
Shockbyte’s July 2026 Palworld mod guide says its built-in installer is available on a separate “Palworld (modded)” server type running the Windows build. It warns that switching server types may affect settings and saves, and that some mods require clients to install the same mod. Its page names Nexus Mods as the installer source; check the listing and compatibility notes for each package before enabling it.
BisectHosting publishes a Palworld-specific UE4SS installation guide and says the offer includes mod support. The public guide checked here does not identify the server operating system or promise that a particular package works with the latest build. Ask which Palworld server image your plan uses and whether the exact UE4SS version and mod are supported.
Console players need extra care: an Xbox or PS5 client cannot install the Windows client mods described in PC guides. A server-side mod being eligible does not prove console crossplay will still work. Check the mod maker’s client requirements and test with a spare world before adding it to the group’s main save. Our guide to Palworld server mods that work on a dedicated server explains the difference between server-side and client-side support. Before choosing either provider, use our Palworld mod-hosting checklist to compare the server image and file route with your exact packages.
Match a region to your players, then test ping#
Neither public offer gives enough evidence to promise the lowest ping for your group. Shockbyte advertises global locations and BisectHosting advertises 21 worldwide locations; those counts do not say which city is selectable for a specific Palworld plan or what latency your friends will see.
The BisectHosting quote in this comparison used the selector’s US West auto-detected location. Shockbyte’s displayed plan list does not attach a city to each tier. Neither provider’s current Palworld pages provided a comparable East-versus-West-versus-Europe ping measurement. Treat a region map, location count or “low latency” phrase as a place to start, not a result.
Before paying, choose the city closest to most of your players, check whether everyone can pick the same location on the final plan, and ask whether moving later changes the server IP or incurs a charge. After setup, have one player near each end of your group’s map join at the same time you normally play. Record ping and any disconnects during a normal session. This gives you evidence for your own group; a provider-wide claim cannot substitute for it. For a step-by-step group test, see our Palworld server-location guide.
Pick for your modded PC group, console mix or budget duo#
Choose by the constraint you need to solve. Neither provider has a documented performance or support-response win from the public evidence checked here.
| Your situation | What the current evidence supports | Practical next step |
|---|---|---|
| Modded PC group | Shockbyte documents a Windows modded server type and installer; BisectHosting documents UE4SS installation but not the server OS on the public guide | Ask each provider about your exact mod, game build, server OS, client dependencies and rollback path |
| Xbox or PS5 mixed with PC | Both providers advertise Palworld crossplay, but Pocketpair’s join rules apply to both | Confirm the server is visible in the Community server list; consoles use that list, so test with a console player before migrating a developed save |
| Budget group of 8 or 16 | The BisectHosting US West monthly selector quote was $5 lower for 8 players and $4 lower for 16 than the displayed Shockbyte tier examples | Recheck plan labels, current location and renewal amount; compare the save and backup steps too |
| Two friends, one weekend | Palworld’s built-in co-op may be enough if one player hosts and stays online | Try the free route first if that trade-off works; rent a dedicated server when the world needs to stay available without the host |
Console joining is a game-side configuration detail, not a unique feature of either company. Pocketpair’s server overview and dedicated-server deployment guide explain the Community-list requirement for Xbox and PS5. Ask whether the provider’s setup already applies the required public listing setting, then test from each platform your group owns.
If a memory-based managed plan is a better fit for your group, check the current Palworld plans on Game Hosting’s Palworld page. Game Hosting is our product, so compare its published terms with the same questions you would ask of either provider.
Ask these questions before paying#
Use the same checklist for either provider so the lowest number on a page does not make the decision for you:
- Memory: What is the base allocation, and what exactly does BisectHosting’s RAM Boost add? Is that amount reserved for the game process?
- Price: What will the first monthly charge and each renewal cost for the selected player count and region? Are taxes, promotions or add-ons included?
- Location: Which exact city will host this Palworld server, and can the provider move it if most players get poor latency?
- Backups: How often are they created, how long are they retained, can you download a full copy, and what are the restore steps?
- Mods and platforms: Which server operating system is included, and can your specific mod set coexist with the PC, Xbox and PS5 clients in your group?
Our guide on how we rank Palworld hosting providers gives broader comparison criteria; the provider checklist is useful when an offer leaves a detail open. Save the answers with your order, and make a backup before changing server type, adding mods or moving the world.
