Valheim Hosting Renewal Prices: Audit Your Next Bill
Audit a Valheim hosting renewal price, first invoice, cancellation, taxes and world export before an introductory monthly rate surprises your crew.
You will need
- The exact offer or provider account you plan to use
- Access to the billing account owner
- Your crew’s expected play-through length
- A local place to save a world copy
If you are comparing Valheim hosting renewal prices, start with the full amount due today and the next invoice shown for your account. A $13.99 monthly equivalent can still mean paying $335.76 for a two-year term upfront, while another host may bill monthly in euros. This guide turns those details into a short record your crew can review before paying: first charge, renewal amount and interval, cancellation date, taxes, and a world copy you can keep.
Separate the first invoice from the renewal#
For a group that wants a clear Valheim memory tier and a listed monthly USD price, we recommend Game Hosting’s Valheim plans. The catalog shows Squad at $11.99/month for 4 GB, Party at $16.99 for 6 GB, and Clan at $21.99 for 8 GB. Those figures sit beside a game-specific panel and three free backup slots with scheduling, download, restore and locking controls. They describe the published plans; they are not a claim that we tested a purchase or restored your world. Check the final checkout for any taxes or extras.
Now separate the other offers by what they charge and when. On October 9, 2026, DatHost’s Valheim page showed its monthly cycle at €14.90, billed monthly, with €14.90 due today and monthly renewal. Its six-month option showed €53.40 due every six months, and its yearly option showed €82.80 due yearly. Those lower monthly equivalents require a larger prepaid term. Our DatHost review covers the wider service comparison.
Hostinger’s US Game Panel 4 listing showed $335.76 upfront for 24 months, or $13.99 per month as an equivalent, followed by a listed renewal of $28.99 per month. The package is a VPS configuration with 16 GB RAM, 4 vCPU cores, 200 GB NVMe storage and 16 TB bandwidth. It is not a $13.99 month-to-month offer. See our Hostinger Valheim comparison for the broader management tradeoffs.
| Offer checked October 9, 2026 | Due at the start | Recurring / renewal detail shown | Read it as |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game Hosting Valheim Squad | $11.99/month listed | Monthly catalog price; confirm account billing | Published plan price; confirm checkout total |
| DatHost monthly | €14.90 | €14.90/month | A monthly cycle billed in euros |
| Hostinger Game Panel 4 | $335.76 for 24 months | $28.99/month listed | A prepaid VPS term; verify the next invoice interval in your account |
The rows are not equal in currency, memory, term, or service model. Use them to spot what you still need to verify, not to declare one price the cheapest. For a broader guide to Valheim server costs and splitting a monthly budget, compare the full cost over the same number of months. If you are looking for a qualifying introductory deal, compare it with the current cheap Valheim server hosting offers and record the renewal terms separately.
Choose a billing term that fits the crew’s calendar#
Estimate how long your group will actually keep this world active. If you are planning a short campaign, paying for a year to get a lower monthly equivalent may cost more than ending a monthly plan after the group stops playing. If your crew expects a long run, a prepaid term can lower its average cost, but it also puts more money at risk before you know how well the service fits.
Before choosing, write down the billing unit beside the amount: one month, six months, one year, or 24 months. DatHost’s public billing help lists monthly, six-month and yearly cycles. Hostinger’s US listing displays its Game Panel 4 introductory total for 24 months. A “per month” label is useful for comparing rates, but it does not say that the provider will charge one month at a time.
Write down the term you are buying
Copy the exact billing duration from the selected offer or checkout. Keep the prepaid total beside it; do not replace the total with a monthly division.
Compare it with your play schedule
Mark when the group expects to finish, pause or move the world. If that date comes before the paid term ends, ask what happens to unused time and whether cancellation stops only the next charge.
Keep the renewal term separate
Record the renewal amount and period exactly as displayed. If the pricing card only says “renews at $28.99/month,” check the account page or ask support what total and duration the next invoice will cover.
Do not assume an introductory price continues for renewals, or that selecting a longer cycle later will preserve the initial discount. Save the offer and terms shown on the day you pay. Provider prices and promotions can change before your next campaign.
Record the next invoice, taxes and currency#
Your next renewal is an account-specific amount, not just the number on a public plan card. Hostinger says its Billing → Subscriptions page has a Renewal price column, and that the displayed renewal price excludes taxes. DatHost says it charges in EUR and warns that a bank or payment provider may add currency conversion fees when your account uses another currency. Its terms also make the customer responsible for applicable taxes and extra service fees.
Use the account or final checkout to fill these fields before confirming payment:
| Field | What to save |
|---|---|
| Today’s total | The exact amount and currency charged now, including any add-ons shown |
| Paid-through date | The date your prepaid month or term ends |
| Next renewal | The amount, currency, date and full billing interval |
| Taxes | Whether tax is included, added at checkout, or shown separately |
| Conversion | Whether your bank or payment method may add a currency fee |
| Extras | Any separately priced backup, license, storage or panel option |
Hostinger’s page says its prices are shown without VAT; its personal account shows the renewal price excluding taxes. DatHost bills in euros, so a US card account may show a converted amount or a separate bank fee. Do not convert euros with a guessed exchange rate and present the result as DatHost’s USD price. The amount in the payment confirmation is the one the account owner should share with the crew.
If you cannot see the next invoice interval or the tax treatment, ask the provider before purchasing. Save a screenshot or confirmation email with the offer date, term and billing details. A monthly equivalent without the term and due-today total is not enough to split the bill fairly.
Find the cancellation cutoff and service end date#
“Cancel anytime” can mean that you may stop a future renewal while keeping access through the time you paid for. It does not necessarily mean an immediate refund or an immediate shutdown. Confirm both the last day to stop the next charge and the day your server will actually end.
DatHost’s help center says to open Control Panel → Billing → Subscriptions, select Cancel for the server, and confirm. Its cancellation guide says the server stays available for the paid period and the confirmation states the termination date. DatHost terms say subscriptions renew automatically until canceled and that past invoices must be paid before an account can be canceled. Its refund process is separate: its terms ask for an email within 14 days of the invoice date.
Hostinger’s cancellation guide says to disable auto-renewal under Dashboard → Billing → Subscriptions. The service remains active through its expiration date, then is canceled and deleted. If a refund is eligible and processed, the service is terminated immediately and its associated data is erased. The refund policy lists new Game Panel hosting purchases and renewals among services eligible within 30 days, subject to the stated exclusions and conditions. Check the current policy and your own account before relying on a refund window.
Set a reminder several days before the renewal date so the account owner has time to sign in, check the amount and cancel if the crew has moved on. Keep the confirmation that shows the service end date. For more comparisons of Valheim introductory offers and free trials, separate a refund policy from a no-charge trial: the first may require payment and a later refund request.
Download a world copy before account access ends#
Treat world portability as part of the renewal decision. DatHost says its Valheim World Manager can download world progress and that daily server backups are included. That is the provider’s published feature description, not proof that a specific download will load or that a backup survives account termination. Download a copy while your subscription is active, keep it outside the server account, and confirm that you can identify the saved world.
Hostinger’s cancellation instructions warn that terminating a service permanently deletes associated data. They recommend downloading a manual backup before expiration. That general help page does not document a Valheim-specific export path or prove that a Game Panel backup is independently restorable. Before you buy or cancel, ask how to download the actual Valheim world and when access to the files ends.
Do not wait until the server has expired to look for an export button. The owner should keep the copy and the billing login, and the crew should know who can retrieve them. If you plan to move the world, use a disposable copy first and retain the original until the new server loads the test. A backup feature, exported file and successful restore are three different things.
Verify platform fit before moving the world#
Confirm that the setup serves the players who will use it. Iron Gate’s 1.0 FAQ says Valheim is a game for 1–10 players, and its Crossplay FAQ describes joining friends across platforms. A September 2026 1.0.14 patch note says crossplay remained functional while that patch rolled out to platforms. DatHost advertises Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 crossplay on its Valheim page; Hostinger documents creating a Valheim instance through Game Panel. Those are published claims and setup instructions, not a join test from every console or account type.
Before paying a long term or uploading your crew’s established save, check the exact game edition, platform, crossplay option, account permissions and client version required by each player. Start a disposable world and have one player from every required platform join using the provider’s current instructions. If one platform cannot join, pause the move and keep your original world unchanged while you resolve the route.
Valheim’s ten-player vanilla limit is a game limit, not a hosting plan’s recommended population. More RAM does not raise that limit. A provider change also cannot fix a client update mismatch, a platform outage or an incompatible mod. Confirm that the setup fits the group before treating a longer prepaid term as a bargain.
Save a renewal worksheet and agree on the real bill#
Before the account owner pays, share a short record with the crew. Include the exact service and plan, amount due today, billing term purchased, next renewal amount and interval, currency, tax status, cancellation cutoff, end date, and the person responsible for keeping the world copy. If the group splits the cost, agree whether it divides the whole upfront total or sets aside money for each month of a prepaid term.
Review the worksheet again before renewal. Open the account’s subscription page, check the current renewal amount and date, then update the record if the price or term changed. If a member leaves, the group should know whether the subscription continues and who can download the world. That simple review prevents a crew from mistaking a low monthly equivalent for a low recurring bill.
Use the Valheim hosting buyer guide for the broader decision about self-hosting versus renting. If your group also wants to price power at home, the electricity break-even worksheet turns your wall-meter log and play schedule into a monthly estimate. If your group wants explicit Valheim memory tiers, a game-specific settings panel and scheduled backup controls, compare Game Hosting’s current Valheim plans with the same billing term and the needs of your world. Keep the downloaded copy before changing providers, and keep the original until your replacement setup has passed the checks your crew needs.
Quick answers
Does a monthly equivalent mean I can cancel monthly?
No. A monthly equivalent can divide a prepaid term into smaller figures. Check the total charged today and the renewal term separately.
Can I retrieve my world after the subscription expires?
Do not count on it. Download a world copy while you still have account access and confirm where the provider says it is stored.
Which amount should the crew agree to split?
Agree on both the full amount due today and the next renewal amount, with the currency, billing interval, taxes and account owner recorded.
