You will need

  • Compare the same RAM size and monthly billing period on both hosts
  • Know your group’s client versions, mods and preferred region

Godlike’s Vintage Story page advertises a large first-purchase discount and a feature-rich control panel. To judge the actual fit, compare the regular monthly price for the same RAM, read the renewal and refund terms, and ask what its mod and backup tools cover for your particular world. As checked on October 15, 2026, the product page listed regular monthly prices of $15.99 for 4 GB and $31.99 for 8 GB, plus a 75% first-purchase promotion. The public cart did not reveal the initial invoice or its duration without starting account registration, so those promotion details still need confirmation before checkout.

This is a dated review of published information, not a hands-on test. We did not rent a Godlike plan, inspect its customer panel, contact its support team as a customer, join a server, benchmark a modded world or test a restore. Treat features below as provider claims unless specifically described as a verified public term.

For groups comparing monthly cost and documented hardware, we recommend including Game Hosting’s Vintage Story plans in the shortlist: they list a Ryzen 9 9900X server, three free backup slots and a 24-hour trial without a payment card. Its 4 GB/$7.99 and 8 GB/$15.99 monthly rates are lower than Godlike’s listed rates at both sizes; the unconfirmed first-purchase promotion can change only the initial comparison.

What Godlike lists for Vintage Story#

Godlike’s Vintage Story hosting page lists three monthly plans: Ultra with 4 GB, Unstoppable with 6 GB and Rampage with 8 GB. The cards show regular monthly prices of $15.99, $23.99 and $31.99 respectively. They also advertise 10, 20 and 30 slots alongside those plans. A slot label is not a RAM recommendation for your own world; compare memory, CPU information, your mod set and the group’s actual needs before choosing.

The same page promotes 75% off the first purchase. It does not make the final amount and length of that offer clear across the page: a separate comparison table says “$12.99 first two months” for 8 GB, which conflicts with the Rampage card and the headline discount. The cart link we checked redirected to an account-registration form before showing an invoice. Because we could not confirm the order total without creating an account, this guide does not treat any displayed promotional amount or duration as a confirmed charge. Check both the amount due today and the renewal schedule on the final order screen before paying.

For the normal monthly comparison, Game Hosting’s Vintage Story plans list 4 GB at $7.99 and 8 GB at $15.99. That is a lower listed recurring price at the same two RAM sizes, while Godlike’s first-purchase offer may make its initial charge lower if the advertised promotion applies as expected. Compare the full amount over the period you intend to keep the server; do not compare a promotion with another host’s standard rate. Game Hosting also lists a 24-hour trial without a payment card, which gives a group time to check its own connection before choosing a paid plan.

Read the recurring billing terms before buying#

Godlike’s terms of service say subscriptions renew automatically. The company may attempt the next charge up to three days before the renewal date and again on the due date if the early attempt fails. It promises a reminder before the first renewal, but does not promise a reminder before every later renewal. If you want to stop future charges, cancel through the billing panel before the renewal window; cancellation does not refund the current billing period.

The refund policy is also narrower than a general ongoing guarantee. The terms describe a three-calendar-day window for a first purchase, with eligibility limits and possible deductions for fees, some taxes or add-ons, and—in some cases—setup or configuration costs. Godlike’s refund instructions direct customers to cancel and open a ticket within the allowed period. Read the current terms and keep the order confirmation if you rely on that option. These are the provider’s written rules, not a prediction about how a particular request will be handled.

Compare those terms with what matters to your group: whether the recurring amount fits the budget, how much notice you need before renewal, and who can access the billing account. For a broader comparison of the costs beyond a monthly plan, see what a Vintage Story server really costs.

Separate advertised panel tools from tested workflows#

Godlike advertises a Pterodactyl-based game panel, a per-IP firewall, sharing configuration by link, SFTP file access, game-version selection, a Discord bot, server sharing and scheduled tasks. These can be useful controls for an owner who wants to manage access or files. The product page is evidence that the company advertises them; it does not show the exact permissions, setup steps or behavior of a Vintage Story server after purchase.

The page also says supported mods can be updated from the panel. It does not specify which Vintage Story mods are supported, whether they come from the official Vintage Story ModDB, how dependencies are handled, or how clients receive each mod. Ask for the exact mod names and versions you plan to use. Confirm whether an update changes server files or the world, and whether you can review and reverse it before the group reconnects.

The official Vintage Story mod guidance recommends checking each mod’s supported game version and making a backup before adding, removing or updating mods or the game. Multiplayer clients can automatically set up compatible server-offered mods in modern versions, but that does not mean every mod is downloadable to clients or compatible with every server. Follow each ModDB author’s client/server requirements and installation notes. Do not assume a generic panel mod manager can distribute every mod or dependency correctly.

Before changing an established world, make a separate backup and verify that it is the world you expect and that you can retrieve it. Godlike says it offers up to three backups per day with a restore control, but its public Vintage Story page does not state how long copies are retained, where they are stored or what happens to world files when a restore runs. An advertised backup count is not proof that a particular world can be recovered. Ask about retention and restore behavior first, and do not update or migrate the only copy of a world while those answers are unclear.

Match game versions, accounts and player platforms#

Vintage Story is a separately purchased PC game, not a Steam Workshop game. Its official system requirements list 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, macOS 13 or newer, and Linux. The official requirements page does not list a console edition. Each person joining needs their own Vintage Story account; a server rental does not provide the players’ game accounts.

The same official requirements page currently names .NET 10, and the official version 1.22 information says 1.22 requires the .NET 10 runtime. If you are self-hosting, use the official download page for the server files and runtime instructions. If you rent, check that the selected server build is compatible with every player’s client version before changing versions; the official ad-hoc server guide covers client/server version matching. Do not assume that “latest” on a panel means the server and each client will automatically be on a compatible release.

These checks apply whichever host you choose. A well-described version selector and a clear mod list matter more than a broad claim that mods are supported. If a particular mod’s compatibility or client distribution is essential, check its ModDB entry and ask the provider how that mod is installed on the server and delivered to the players.

Compare regions and resource details for your group#

Godlike says it has 10 global data-center locations, but its public Vintage Story page does not list which locations are selectable for this game. Do not assume every location serves every title. Ask which region the order will use and whether you can move the world later. A location name is not a ping result; the reliable test is to have everyone connect from their normal networks.

Godlike publishes RAM tiers, but the Vintage Story page does not provide a benchmark for a particular save, player count or mod set. Ask what CPU allocation and storage the exact plan includes, whether the listed slots are a recommendation or a firm limit, and what options exist if your world outgrows 8 GB. A memory label by itself cannot predict performance. Compare the host’s details with the official game guidance and with the group’s own world rather than buying the highest tier just because it has more slots.

If region testing is important, our guide to Vintage Story server location and ping explains how to compare a real route without treating a city label as a latency promise. For the wider checklist—RAM, control panel, recovery and location—see how to choose Vintage Story server hosting.

When Godlike may fit—and what to confirm#

Godlike may be worth considering if its advertised SFTP, firewall, configuration sharing, Discord integration and panel controls match the way your group wants to manage a server. Its published regular monthly price is higher than Game Hosting’s at the matching 4 GB and 8 GB sizes; its first-purchase promotion may change the initial bill, but we could not confirm the checkout amount or duration from the public cart. Make the decision using the order total and renewal price shown for your account before paying.

Before you commit, confirm the current plan price after the promotion, renewal date and charge amount; the exact Vintage Story region; CPU allocation; whether your ModDB mods and their dependencies are supported; how those mods reach players; backup retention; and what a restore replaces. If Godlike’s answers match your group’s priorities, the advertised panel tools may be worth paying for. If a lower published monthly price, clear RAM tiers and a no-card trial matter more, compare the Game Hosting Vintage Story plans and test from each player’s usual connection.

Sources and scope#

Product details and terms in this review were checked October 15, 2026. The Godlike price cards and comparison table disagree about its 8 GB promotion, and the public cart showed registration fields instead of an order summary; the promo amount and duration remain unverified. This page credits Godlike’s published features but does not claim we tested them. Official Vintage Story sources above support the platform, runtime and mod guidance. We did not test a Godlike server, its panel, a client connection, a backup or a restore.

Quick answers

Is Godlike good for Vintage Story hosting?

It may suit a group that values its advertised Pterodactyl panel, SFTP, firewall, config sharing and Discord bot. The public page does not establish which Vintage Story mods, client downloads, backup retention or locations are available on a specific plan, so confirm those details for your world.

Does Godlike’s discount apply after the first purchase?

Godlike’s Vintage Story page advertises 75% off the first purchase, while its plan cards list higher monthly prices. The public cart redirected to registration before showing an invoice, so verify the initial total and renewal amount on the final order screen before creating an account.

Does Godlike support Vintage Story mods?

Its page advertises supported mods and panel updates, but it does not identify a Vintage Story ModDB workflow, dependency handling or client distribution. Check the exact mod and game version with the provider and mod author before changing an existing world.
