How to breed Shadowbeak in Palworld
Step-by-step guide#189
Shadowbeak
Dark
- Get itWild, Lv 50
- Breeding power550
- Male eggs50%
- EggHuge Dark Egg
Shadowbeak can’t be bred from other Pals: only a male and a female Shadowbeak make another one. Catch it first: it spawns from Lv 50 (lowest near No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary). After that, every Shadowbeak egg is a Shadowbeak.
Its breeding power is 550. The formula never makes Shadowbeak, but as a parent it counts like any Pal: the lower the parents’ powers, the rarer the egg.
Why only its own kind
Some Pals are left out of the breeding formula: most legendaries, raid and tower bosses and a few others. No pair of other Pals ever makes them, however close their breeding power is. A male and a female Shadowbeak make a Shadowbeak egg; everything else Shadowbeak breeds with makes another Pal (below).
Shortest chain from early-game Pals
No chain of breeds reaches Shadowbeak: catch Shadowbeak itself first.

Passives
Shadowbeak has no passive of its own: a bred Shadowbeak inherits up to four from its two parents, at random.
To get the passives you want, pick them in the Breeding path: it finds which of your Pals carry them and the shortest route.

Mutated eggs never hatch Shadowbeak
Shadowbeak isn’t on the game’s list of Pals a mutated egg can hatch, which leaves out legendaries, raid and tower Pals, Terraria monsters and a few variants. About 1 in 100 Breeding Farm eggs (1 in 33 with Extravagant Vegetable Cake) is mutated, but never into Shadowbeak.
What Shadowbeak’s mutated eggs hatch
Two Shadowbeak make a mutated egg of 3 Pals, most often Eidrolon (65%), Renjishi (18%) and Solenne (16%). With other partners, Shadowbeak’s mutated eggs can hatch 89 different Pals. The rarest, with the partner that gives each one most often:
- Ophydiawith Bastigor: 100% of mutants, 1 in 33 eggs
- Dualith Noctwith Jormuntide Ignis: 88% of mutants, 1 in 38 eggs
- Knocklemwith Lyleen Noct: 45% of mutants, 1 in 73 eggs
- Celesdir Noctwith Celesdir Noct: 37% of mutants, 1 in 90 eggs
- Solennewith Selyne: 28% of mutants, 1 in 120 eggs
- Renjishiwith Whalaska Ignis: 27% of mutants, 1 in 123 eggs
- Eidrolonwith Celesdir: 73% of mutants, 1 in 46 eggs
- Whalaska Igniswith Sibelyx Primo: 65% of mutants, 1 in 51 eggs
